Octagon Expands Surf Business with Payne Brothers & Lau…

Octagon today announced the expansion of its surf business through a strategic partnership with experienced surfing manager Dylan Payne. Dylan will manage top Hawaiian’s Dusty Payne and Zeke Lau and all three will be integrated into the company’s global operations. As an independent manager, Dylan has successfully helped manage the careers of Dusty and Zeke, as well as worked with many of the most admired brands in the sport. Dusty is widely regarded as one of the most versatile surfers in the world and has had a top-10 ranking in Transworld Business Exposure Meter for three consecutive years (2009-2011) while Zeke is widely recognized as one of the most exciting young surfers in Hawaii.

Olympic medalists Natalie Coughlin & Jonathan Horton are featured in a new TD Ameritrade ads celebrating the brand’s alignment with the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team. With Matt Damon providing the voiceover, the ads take viewers through highlights of their careers and elicit the brand’s support for their Olympic journeys in swimming and gymnastics

Raisman Celebrates 100 Days Out on Today Show with Ralph Lauren…

World Champion gymnast Aly Raisman was one of six Ralph Lauren athletes in New York City last week showcasing the brand’s Olympic clothing on the Today Show. Raisman was demoing the “village wear”, a red, personalized polo with white pants and white shoes. Raisman, who has recently partnered with Kellogg’s and GK Elite Leotards, is also listed as one of Sports Illustrated’s stories to watch in the lead up to the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Top-ranked triathlete Matt Chrabot, the winner of the 2011 Huatulco World Cup, is featured on the cover of the May issue of Inside Triathlon. After debuting at the top spot in the combined print and e-book rankings, “The Big Miss” has stayed in the top five and has been showcased on major news and sports networks including CBS, ESPN, FOX and CNN.

Blanchard Selected as Action Sports Judge for Vimeo Awards…

Surfer Alana Blanchard was recently selected to be one of three judges for the Action Sports category of the 2012 Vimeo Awards. Blanchard joins other judges Travis Rice and Stacy Peralta, and the trio will work together to confirm their choices for the best action sports video on Vimeo’s website.

British BMX rider Liam Phillips and British track star Emily Pidgeon are featured in Armani’s pre-Olympic ad campaign. Phillips and Pidgeon are two of eight athletes to partner with the fashion brand ahead of the 2012 Summer Olympics.
